The procedure is simple. This procedure should be performed outside due to the heavy amount of smoke from the exhaust. Saab reccomends the use of GM top engine cleaner (about 6 bucks a can)that is sucked through a vacuum hose(the hose with the check valve attached going to the valve cover) into the throttle body while the engine is spinning around 2000 rpm. One should meter the amount of cleaner with plyers crimping the hose as the engine is about to stall. Once rpm pick up continue with cleaner entering the engine and repeat. When can is about 3/4 empty, empty the remaining contents into the engine and let sit a few hours.
This procedure not only cleans the carbon deposites in the combustion chamber(ie pistons and head)but also the intake valves and exhaust valves.
The next step, run the car until the white smoke has been eliminated from the exhaust. This may take 5 miles of driving or so. Once smoke has cleared, change both spark plugs and oil.
