Here in metro NYC last August '02, it was around $33k for an Aero sedan with stick, metallic paint, and touring package, for a cash purchase or traditional loan.

On the lease, the cap cost was $35k for an Aero sedan with stick, metallic paint, and touring package. The residual on that vehicle after 3 years and 36,000 miles was about $20,500. Money factor was 0.00055 (which translates to an APR of about 1.33%). With taxes and bank fee up front, this comes out to roughly $433 per month. The wagon with automatic trans will be a bit more, you can play around with the numbers to get an idea.

I'm not sure what the money factor is right now or what it might be this August, your SAAB dealer might have a better idea. See what kind of numbers they'll generate for you.. While the Aero wagon is rare and very desirable, sometimes they have a hard time selling the stick shift version in NYC, and so they may be willing to make a deal right now!

The British guy at Garden City SAAB is very good (I forgot his name! I think it's John), and so is Jesse at North Shore SAAB in Roslyn. On the other side of the river, I've read good things here about Spreen SAAB in Hackensack, NJ. I've read some not-so-good things here about the dealer in Manhattan.

Happy car shopping!
