In the case of Xenon lights the optics is complete symmetric. The assymetry
is provided by the motorized shutter/flap. When you aim the low beam
of a Xenon unit tyo a nearby wall you will see the shadow of the
shutter. To the left of the car the transition between light and shadow
is horizontal. To the right slops upwards by about 15-20 degrees.
This has the effect of illuminating further away from tha car
in the left side.
The tranformation to Continental driving needs really a ROTATION
of about 15-20 degrees of the Xenon unit along its longitudinal axis (along the lenght of the car) so the assymetry changes sides from the right to the
left. The result should be a horizontal shadow to the left and sloping
upwards to the right.
Shifting downwards both beams is not a proper solution only a palliative.
