I am comtemplating the Speedparts Stage 2 upgrade for my 2000 Aero. I'm sure it will happen within the next year (when the warranty runs out) or maybe sooner as I have the money now and may not in a year. I have looked around and Speedparts seems to provide the most bang for the buck, Hirsch may provide a few more horses at stage 2 but theirs costs a lot more.
As to upgrading to 2002 Aero specs, that should be possible too with just a change of the ECU but that will only buy you 20 horses and a slightly fatter touque curve but the torque is still electronically capped at 258 ft-lb. something most tuners do away with.
As to the warranty, I suspect it would affect your ability to collect on engine repairs unless your dealer was very understanding, very dumb or you put the stock stuff back in before you took it in for the repairs.
