The 9-5 and V70 wagons are very similar in terms of room. I'd say the Volvo is roomier in the front and the Saab roomier in the back seat. I found the room in the back seat of the Volvo to be tighter than the 9-5.

However, there is one important difference... the Volvo can be ordered with a third rear facing seat for two more occupants. This really comes in handy when picking up the kids and they have some friends tagging along. Wish the 9-5 wagon had that feature.

My wife has a Volvo wagon (940) and her friends who drive SUVs always comment that the Volvo has so much more room than their gas-guzzlers.
