Jason 0W-40, With your Jiffy Lube post you've got me concerned about the power steering fluid used on the 9-5. Is it true? Is it true? I can't mix regular fluid in with the old stuff?

What symptoms would I look for? I'm not sure if the correct fluid was added:

I noticed when I left for a long road trip on Friday afternoon that my PS fluid was a bit low... nothing in the service stations I stopped at matched what was called for in the owner's manual, but I wasn't too concerned as everything seemed to be working fine and it wasn't THAT low. Anyhow, I was out to get a coffee on Saturday morning whilst everyone else was sleeping and I happened across the local Saab dealership (Windsor SSI) The parts dept was open, so I figured they'd be able to set me up. The guy at the parts counter wasn't sure if it was a special oil or not, so he stepped into the back to ask one of the techs. He comes back with a litre of PS fluid, I didn't bother to look what was in it as:

a) I told him what it was going into and he IS the Saab parts guy and;

b) once he found out I was only after a top-up he offered to put it in for me.

He kindly added the fluid for me and I was on my way. It was a black bottle labelled "AC Delco", not "Saab" Does AC Delco make the correct fluid? Do I need to flush out the old oil now and re-fill with the correct one?
