LTFT is defenitly out of whack, but what's causing it? Posted by SWEDECAR [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Intermittent CEL & fuel trim out? Anders?, Eric Law, Fri, 30 May 2003 15:54:14 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Very strange that no fault code was logged, since CEL came on.
I wonder about the integrity of that OBD software?
The car do reset by itself though, when enough drive cycles without a problem have been performed, and since the LTFT is not pegged at -25% the problem is not a hard fault yet. So maybe the OBD is right after all.
What I do in cases like this is to read and reset fault codes and adaption.
Next I start the car and study the STFT and front O2 sensor to see in what direction they peak.
LTFT of -23% indicates a air/fuel too rich syndrome, so the front O2 sensor should show a high voltage for awhile until the system have slowly compensated for it again.
Fuel pressure regulator or MAP sensor is a couple of guesses. A bad O2 sensor could also do this.
