of peoeple who had "chiped" their 2.7t and it resulted in catastrophic engine failure, and they were warning people not to do it. There are only a couple of aftermarket options and one of them resulted in serious detonation problems that essentially had combustion parts creating shrapnal in the engine. Also, numerous cases of ignition coil failure and front end problems. It seems to me that with 5 valves per cylinder, that engine should have a timing chain and not a belt. Not to mention the engine averages about 15-17 mpg. Why is it that the car mags that rave about Audi's never mention their less than adequate reliability? All that being said, I still did like the car, just not as much as the 9-5.
