So GM has decided to take the most troublesome, unreliable SUV they have (the Trailblazer/Envoy is the absolute bottom of the reliability scale in Consumer Reports and elsewhere), add a few "personality modules", and sell it as a Saab. So much for the Saab values of safety (these things rollover easily), performance (ponderous surging beasts), and efficiency (combined mileage of 13mpg!).
Volvo produced a fine SUV on one of their own platforms with one of their own engines that gets 24 mpg on the highway. I guess they have more money for development.
So GM has decided that a SUV is what Saab needs to survive these days, but I sure hope they continue to build vehicles like the 9-5 wagon and don't kill it because of the SUV.
