I just discovered the following symptoms in my new 9-5 Arc: (1) With audio on, the Onstar buttons do nothing. This is not consistent with the owner's manual. (2) With the ignition on, the Onstar buttons work. However, they also trigger the hazard flasher, which operates until the button with the white dot is pressed. (3) Out of curiosity, I pressed the hazard button with the ignition off. The hazard flasher works as it should, but the audio system lights up and the message "telephone" appears on the display. The OnStar buttons are not functional in this state.
My guess is that somehow the OnStar system got wired into the flasher, instead of into the audio system. Anyone else experience this? Any idea what is wrong?
