Ken, I know just how you feel. I considered an '03 Aero, but wound up with a '99 SE. Just couldn't ignore the value that could be had given resale prices last Fall.

So, I'm in the same boat as you. My strategy is to upgrade ECU, then upgrade suspension, and exhaust part as they wear out. So far, I've replaced the standard Michelins with BFG g-force 250-50-16s, and upgraded my ECU to BSR Stage II.

I have no complaints with the tires. They seem to handle quite well, though give a bit harsher ride. I think you're also more prone to bending rims (bent one on a pothole last Winter). The ECU I bought will take you up to 234 hp and 279 ft/lbs torque without making any other modifications. Gives the car similar, if not better acceleration as the Aero which is 250/255 hp/torque. Fuel economy doesn't seem compromized, and I noticed the little bit of idle shake I had with the original ECU is nearly imperceptable now. You can put a K&N filter and larger downpipe to get another 5 hp.

Suspension is to spongy and I'll be doing something about that next.

By all means though, treat yourself to the ECU upgrade.
