Interesting. These are smart moves. It looks like the whole lineup now has the 2.3, with the Linear being wagon only (which makes me wonder if there's no Arc wagon anymore). The Arc is 2.3, I guess you'd call it mid-pressure turbo, with manual available. I love my 2003 Aero, but if this version of the Arc had been available last year I would have bought it. Let's see if the new body kit for the Aero is subtle or goofy.
These moves rationalize the product line a bit and should reduce costs -- one less engine to deal with, fewer combinations of wagons/trim levels/engines. While I liked all the choices before, there were just to many variants to make sense for a low-volume manufacturer like Saab.
I wonder if this will drive down the resale value of Arcs -- especially Arc wagons? If it does I might have to find one.
