If your Highlander has the same 3.0 V6 engine as found in the Camry, the Sienna, and the RX, keep a close eye on the oil. That engine has some serious sludge problems, thought to be related to the gears which drive the camshafts.
The Toyota V6 beats up oil much worse than a turbo!
Best to run Mobil 1, or if you prefer dino oil, go no further than a 3,000 mile interval.
Keep all your oil change receipts!
