Pewter Wheels

Someone must have checked the [X] Pewter Wheels on our order form. 1000 miles into the car, the wheels have a nice pewter color to them. I wonder if I could cast them into a statue of the Greek god Frenokles, patron of brake pads and drums...
Seriously, I've read the stuff about brake dust, how does one clean the wheels? Meguiars something or other and water?
Spiros (let's see who will get the pun on Frenokles)
