It combines the head unit and nav system, and they interwork seamlessly. The head unit is the AVH-P6500DVD - 6.5" touch screen, plays DVD/CD/CD-R/CD-RW/MP3 CDs. Sounds great. The nav system is the AVIC-80DVD.
It's a pretty slick setup. The head unit has a hideaway box with extra A/V inputs and outputs. I used a mini-headphone-to-RCA cable to plug the iPod in there. I'm planning on getting the Saab phone cradle and mount to actually hold iPod - it looks like it'll be a nice fit and keep it in easy reach. Overall I would have preferred to find a nice way to integrate it with the stock system, as I lost use of the stock steering wheel controls, and no more OnStar (no big loss there), but I'm happy with the system, and I think I'll figure out a way to get the steering wheel controls to work. There are devices you can get which will let OnStar work with an aftermarket head unit, if that's important to you.
