I asked recently and gave up. $2000 later, I've got a Pioneer DVD navigation system with a nice clean connection to my iPod, voice recognition, and steering wheel controls. It also plays MP3 CDs in case I don't feel like lugging iPod around.
The final answer to your question is no, there's no way to get an aux input into your stock unit. The cd changer interface is worthless, because Saab uses the EBUS to authenticate the changer, and won't accept input unless a properly married cd changer talks back to it.
There are 2 inelegant options that may work. One is courtesy of a poster on the General board a while back.
1) Buy an equalizer with an input, and connect it inline between head unit and speakers/amp. Volume control for the iPod won't be through the head unit, though, and you'll need to find a place to mount the equalizer. The equalizer itself will probably slightly degrade the quality of your audio.
2) Get an FM modulator that actually plugs into your antenna socket. Removes two of the problems with FM modulators - poor signal strength and having the transmitter lying around your seats. You get to control volume through your steering wheel, but you've still got crappy FM quality, and you need to tune your station in each time. Also signal drift is probably still a problem - the in-line FM modulators I've seen are still tuned by an analog dial, so you might be hunting for a good frequency for a while. Not sure if they also "block" the same frequency from the actual antenna - if not, you'll still have interference when you drive through different areas. If 88.3 is free at home but used near your work, you'll be out of luck.
Anyway, those were my findings. I looked at everything, and there's just no options with the recent Saab head units. Aftermarket unit is really the only way to go.
For what it's worth, my touch-screen nav system is a joy to use, and looks surprisingly good in the understated Saab dash (I've got a 2003 9-3 convertible), with its black screen and brushed silver face.
