If you're going for distance, make sure you fill up with Shell. I've found it even better than Chevron.
Recently drove Boston to Washington, DC. By SID, averaged 69 MPH (which means a lot of the trip was spend up in the 75-85 MPH range) and I don't baby the gas in passing or taking off out of tolls. Also caught some pretty bad traffic in Maryland. In any case, I got 32.9 MPG according to the SID. Before I hit the Maryland traffic, I was at 33.3 MPG. I used Shell gas, which compared to my other similar trips I think netted me about an extra 1.5 MPG.
I love these Saab 9-5s! And now I'm a Shell convert, too.
