I have a '99 9-5 sedan that was bought July 3rd of '98. It now has 57,500 (almost) on it w/ no significant problems. That mileage is relatively low, I know. However, there are many on this board that have higher miles than that. I greatly enjoy my car, every time I drive it.
Regarding which 9-5 to get, I would probably go w/ the '03. The '04 Linear SW is the same as the '03. Only the Arc (engine, body) and Aero (body) are getting any real changes. I would think a dealer would be more willing to give you a good deal on an '03 to get rid of it (no sense having a year old car on the lot). Hope this helps.
