I have owned a 03 9-5 Aero for about 6 months. I have had zero problems so far (as I would have expected). In these 6 months - the car has really proven to me that I made the right choice - it has a very high fun to drive factor. My guess is that the Toyata is probably a more reliable car than Saab - I believe the surveys all rank Toyata at the tob or near the top of the lists. However the Saab is still a very reliable car. I think Consumer Reports gave it a best buy or something in 03 and the charts shows good reliabilitily with an increasing trend as the model year gets current. Saab also gives you 4 / 50K warranty so if you only keep the car for 4 years - any issues you have will be covered by Saab. The changes are minimal from 03-04 so it might be worthwhile getting a good deal on the 03. I would go drive the car - you will get the feeling of car that is well put together.
