But probably will get a Jihad started by those who just have long felt that an automatic is not the "he-man's" way of driving. Sorry to say, but that is the likely response. No need to confuse them with the facts that modern automatics actually shift much faster than they could, are smoother and usually quieter than manuals, and sometimes can also get better fuel economy. I drove sticks exclusively for about 34 years before getting my 2002 Aero, and the only thing that will ever temp me to go back to a manual is the paddle shifted electro-hydraulic manual, because that offers all of the true benefits of a manual,such as engine braking, and the ability to program it for automatic operation when sitting in traffic or just not being in the mood to shift. The clutch peddal and gear lever can go the way of the carburetor as far as I am concerned. Even if you make the very best one money can buy, it is still old tech.
