After looking at the glove box, I figured it couldn't be too difficult, so I gave it a try. There are only 6 torx screws you need to remove to get it out, but the three on the bottom are behind a trim piece held in place by 4 more, so the total really is 10. Remember there is a torx screwdriver in the trunk (or at least my 99 and 01 9-5's have them, I don't know about the skimping on stuff that started with the 02's)

The three screws on the left hand side of the inside don't need to be removed, and the two on the top that hold the bracket that the door closes on don't need to be take out either. Once you have the three on top and three on bottom out, it slides out and you can remove the power to the light and the AC input that cools the glove box.

I simply took it out and reinstalled it, and then drove around a while to see if the rattle came back. So far it hasn't, so I saved myself a trip to the dealership on my day off.
