I would love to buy one brand new with the mods and warranty -- great for a few reasons:

1) I can finance the whole thing rather than $500 here and there all cash to add the mods.
2) Install cost should be less or leveraged and would be professional (warrantied work)
3) I would have a warranty
4) I would be the first to drive the car with said mods

I say all this because the used market has an opposite effect:

1) No warranty on the mods and who knows if they were installed or operate correctly
2) I would really have to trust the PO that he took care of the car and did not beat on it.
3) It would just be questionable if I did not really know the person or there wasn't a good certifiable story behind the mods.

I also really depends on the mods -- Suspension stuff maybe I would pay a few extra dollars -- engine mods no way -- visual mods it would really have to depend on the value of what was done and if I would actually value what they did.

All that said I plan on modding my Viggen over the next year and really don't expect to get any of that money back. I would hope that it won't exclude people who might otherwise buy my car because I put mods on it.

The real flip side to this I would trust a Saabnet regular with their mods and would pay a premium to buy Dean's aero wagon if he were to sell it someday;) So as usual it all depends....
