I always use high test in my octane, but would not hesitate to use a tankfull of middle grade in winter if I were going to be using little boost( ie,driving with a light foot). nder those conditions,cold air and low boost pressure, you will certainly not do any harm.In warmer weather,I would avoid anything but 93 or higher octane.When the engine is not under boosted conditions, it really does not matter as much as when the air is warm and boost pressure is high
