The outlook varies with ones expectations.
I know that the DI's can and do fail. So I have a new one in the back of my 03 Wagon. Yes, if in warranty Saab will be on the hook. But instead of calling a tow truck, I will have a big grin on my face (if its not raining) as I spend a few minutes installing the new one. Four screws and connector. And some shop clothes to be my oven mitts as the DI is hot to handle.
For me, its more important to be able to get mobile again in a few minutes than fret about Saabs guilt in all of this.
And if I come across a stranded Saaber, and I am not on a long trip myself, I might be able to be someones hero with my spare new DI.
