I am a new Saab owner. I have owned this Aero 95 2000 with 35000 miles for less than three months. I LOVE this car and have been extremely happy with it up until three weeks ago. I ate dinner with my wife at a restaurant and when I got into my car and tried to start it, it did not turn over. The headlights would dim-out when I turned the key to "start" but it would not turn over. I worked the key for about 5 minutes and then got help from someone who jumped the car. I immediately drove to Autozone and asked for a new battery. The Autozone guy wanted to test my battery first. "It's fine, start it up" I turned the key and NOTHING. He scratched his head and we tried a few more times NOTHING. He then jumped the battery and it started. He told me my battery was fine and to take the car to the dealer. I left the car with the dealer for two days and he could never make the car NOT start. VERY FRUSTRATING! Can't fix what don't look broken. Three days later, OF COURSE, the car won't start. I went to Autozone and replaced the battery and crossed my fingers. Car started in the Autozone parking lot but later that day wouldn't.

I have not seen any postings about this problem and I would be indebted to anyone who could help. This car is in Atlanta GA and it has not gotten below freezing yet. It's not the battery. I did notice that if the car is started and I try to start the engine while it is running the headlights will dim and the starter engine does not engage. I wonder if this could be linked to the problem. Does the Saab THINK the car is already running? Is there a component that controls that?

Car runs PERFECTLY once it starts.
It either starts IMMEDIATELY or NOT AT ALL.
JumpStarting usually starts it but it can sometimes start on its own after 5 -10 minutes.
There are never ANY error codes in the info screen just Checking and then CHECK OK

Sorry for the long message. I wanted to give as much info as I could right off the bat.

Paul
