Color match should be perfect.... Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Aero wagon back safe and sound, washaero, Tue, 9 Dec 2003 06:16:41 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I've seen normally excellent body shops miss the color. It's an art not a science. You wouldn't be out of line asking them to redo it. Don't settle for close enough. Did they only repaint the bumper? Or did they have to blend in a large portion of the rear of the car? Repainting the bumper all by itself is fairly inexpensive for them. If the color is off now it will only get worse. One of the reasons there are so many vendors re-doing plastic bumpers is because you don't have to blend in the other body panels, there are delineations, rub strips, seams, etc., but you shouldn't notice a color difference.
My trusted, inexpensive, local indie Saab mechanic wanted $300 to replace my 93 900S exhaust for something that I got fixed for $20 at the local muffler shop. Probably similar circumstances at the body shop.
