Any amount of heat on the pan which is enough to do the job, might well cook the oil. I'd recommend another way.
I once had a big nut welded over a rounded-off drain plug. Worked like a charm, but remember that you now have modified the design so that you can crack the pan to pieces. Those drain plugs seem to tighten themselves! I regularly use a light touch to tighten, but need plenty ooomph to remove!
