I think SAAB engines take a while to break in (mine still had a few elevated metals at 14K, at its third oil change), and furthermore, a good amount of old oil is left behind in the oil cooler after an oil change. So I'd advise you to do a couple of short-run oil changes (say, 2,500 miles each) to flush things out.
Thereafter, a 5,000 mile oil change interval is a good idea for most drivers. Fully synthetic oil like Mobil 1 0W-40, German Castrol, or Amsoil will help keep your engine clean and perform at its best.
A few other tips: (first two courtesy of Dean)
-remove the DI screws and reinstall them, using Loc-tite Blue
-remove the brake rotor index screws and reinstall them, using Never Seize
-the dealer has metal clips available to keep the front blinkers in place, if these haven't been installed yet.
If you're flying "down" to MA, I take it you're north of there? Don't forget to get some winter tires! I highly recommend the SAAB/BBS winter tire & alloy wheel package.
Note that if you'll be using steel rims, you must use special wheel bolts, available at the dealer.
Enjoy!
Jason
