Hey Simon, how's that Saab 9-5 drive in all the snow you guys got a week ago? Here in Edmonton we just went through a weekend of freezing rain. I have to admit I feel more comfortable driving the 9-5 than our heavier and clunkier Land Rover Disco on challenging city streets. I have had a similar desire regarding headlight settings and find that pulling the fuse does
not adequately address it. I've asked the dealer about changing the setting with TechII and the cost seems quite prohibitive (says it would range from $40 to 75). I don't even want to consider the legal ramifications if one ever gets pulled over or has an accident having the non N.American settings or the fuse pulled. Also, I'm a little worried about forgetting to turn the lights off when in parking lights mode. What I do when I want to save the bulbs is to turn the lever so that it sets just between the ddl (full left) setting and the parking lights setting. Believe me the dial actually stays there if you fiddle with it abit. This turns all the lights off as if you pulled the fuse, but with a slight turn of the dial, you get the lights back.
