This is Doug, Betsy's husband.
Is it bad to use regular off-the-shelf coolant for just a short trip? I wonder if I would have been better off buying some regular 50/50 coolant instead of water, because then I wouldn't have to worry about the block freezing. Then I could have had the coolant flushed tomorrow.
Also, is it still bad for the block to freeze, if I don't start it? I could have it towed to the dealer tomorrow and let them thaw it and flush the coolant before starting it.
Or, I could run it every 4 hours as Ian suggested. Although it's supposed to get very cold here tonight, down to 5 degrees Farenheit, so I'd be tempted to run it every 3 hours. (We have an unheated garage.)
