Potential Roadside Assist Problem (long)

Well, my DI failed last night (on the hwy, on the coldest night of the year!) Odometer read 48,737km when the engine died.
Anyway, because of the weather, GM Roadside Assistance had a recorded message that due to high call volume, it would take at least 30min to connect and 4-5 hours for a tow truck. The message also mentioned that we could arrange a private tow and that Roadside Assist would re-imburse the cost of the tow to the dealer (note: the message did not mention the NEAREST dealer).
Fortunately, a police cruiser came to offer a safe and warm backseat (1st time in the back of a cruiser - it's really tight!). He also radioed for all nearby tow trucks to come and pick me up.
Now, I was West of the city in an area that I'm not familiar with, so I really didn't know which dealer was actually closer. But I did know that one of them was further away from my home, so I chose the dealer that was closer. Well I found out after the fact that I chose the dealer that was in fact 10mi further away. (BTW, it cost me $290 CAD to tow it!!!).
SO, will Roadside Assist reject my tow costs because I took it to the further dealer? How the hell was I supposed to know which was closer? The tow truck driver had no idea. And Roadside Assist's pre-recorded message made no mention of it. Do I have any case here?

BTW - it's also time for my 48,000km service (30,000mi) - I was quoted $792 for it (~$600US) and that was the cheaper quote of the 2 dealers that I checked. What do you other Canadians pay??
