discount price. I just received a package from GM containing examples of current savings as result of GM opening up the Supplier discount program (all employees received 4 certificates for Supplier discount that they can distribute to anyone interested in buying a new vehicle). These examples all included both the Supplier Discount price and rebates.
With a Lease you are financing the entire MSRP of the vehicle (interest only), but paying off only the difference between the MSRP and Residual. I know I will receive lots of rebuttals on this point, but so be it, that's the way it is.
For example; a $40,000 vehicle has a residual of $25,000 after 3 years. The manufacturer need to reclaim the $15,000 difference in value over the three years, PLUS their cost of money on the original $40,000 value. It helps to understand if you assume the manufacturer had to borrow the entire $40,000 to make the vehhicle and sold it at their cost.
So go ahead and argue away.
