Not everyone is. When you own a convertible, you are compromising on things you take for granted. That radio you're used to battles with more wind and road noise. The heater takes a little longer to warm up in winter. You have to be careful where you take and park your car. That front nose flexes a little on rough pavement. Its not as tight as a sedan, so, its inevitable that squeaks and rattles will eventually occur. You typically have large blind-spots with convertibles when in the up-position. And yes, you hair does get messed-up.
Since you're only leasing, these are not long-term effects, but, considering that a convertible spends 98+% with its top up, are those extra dollars worth it? You decide.
That being said, we bought the sedan in '02....that's the wife's car. I still continue to drive my '90 900 convertible which I do not have any intensions of giving up. I've had convertibles as my main source of transportation for over 25 years because I accepted the limitations right from the start. I get the top down every chance I get. Air conditioning is used when its very hot and raining, otherwise, its down. If its 90 degrees with humidity to match, its still down. With all that, its still up over 90% of the time in my case!
