Engine break-in procedures elicit responses similar to best oil and when to change it. A lot of opinions, some held quite fervently.
Here's what I had posted last year.
Vary rpm's.
Gradually increase boost (engine load).
Allow cool down between runs.
My 2002 Aero is so strong (following my break-in) that the ESP kicks in as the car is accelerating and reaching peak hp in first gear. i.e., as the rpm's increase, along with my velocity, in first gear (auto), the ESP is activated about 2/3'rds of the way in first gear, before it shifts to second. This is with stock Michelins, straight line acceleration, and dry pavement.
And no, I didn't follow the link's directions entirely, just the basic portions listed above.
And, (although this is bound to bring forth contradictors), there is nothing wrong with taking a new engine to 80 mph. It all depends on how it get it there. Flooring the pedal to 25 mph WILL do damage. I'd pay more attention to the boost gauge and the tachometer than the speedometer.
