In 2002 lots of improvements (1,000+) were made to the 9-5.
But 2002 saw the loss of minor items like the safety triangle, the audio demo CD, and the first aid kit.
I believe in 2003 they deleted the trunk side cargo net, not a big deal, considering you can get Homelink, an electronic compass, and outside dimming mirrors which were not present in '02. Anyway, you can buy the cargo net for cheap...
In 2004 it seems like bigger items are being deleted like weather band, umbrella side pockets, etc. You probably can't add WB back to the radio easily... so I think the major decontenting started with '04 models.
