Depends how much you pay

The reason to buy a Saab with that much mileage on it (out of warranty) is that you get a lot more car for the $$ than you would from any comparable make. FIve months ago I bought a 2000 2.3 wagon (manual) with 52k miles--very clean, proclaimed in good shape by trusted mechanic--and do not regret it one bit. I anticipated having to spend some extra money on top of purchase price--paid $15.5k.
My costs so far:
$75 for some new hoses, etc.
$300 or so for new rear shocks (@ $80 each plus labor)
$300 (?can't remember?) for new LED info display thingie
Costs I anticipate next 6 months:
New front shocks ($4 or $500?)
Mechanical problems/stalling, etc.:
None
Number of times car has not leapt eagerly to life every morning:
None
How much $$ I'm ahead of comparable used Volvo:
$5000
How much more pleasure I've gotten than from comparable used Volvo:
Priceless
