Mine is still very tight. Cars in general have much better longevity than they used to, and the Saab's seem tight if kept up.
Most of the early bug's that 9-5's had were worked out by the time MY '00 wagons came around. I bought mine w/85K almost 2yrs ago, in almost mint condition (needed tires, shocks...) for $13K, and it's probably worth $7500-8000 even with all the maintenance thats been done. Except for the syncro's the car still seems pretty bulletproof.
Expect to spend money on serpentine belts and pulleys, shocks, SID, and make sure 60K service was done. Do yourself the favor and do the belt and pulleys before they go (and go back and do the pulleys or watch them REALLY closely if they only did the belt at 60K) No kidding, it's the only total breakdown I've had with any of my cars in close to 20 years (and I've taken all of them past 150K)
There is a HUGE drop in prices once these get out of warranty, especially if they weren't certified, so haggle effectively, and compare to other vehicles with similar miles. The difference should more than pay for some of the service.
Definately get a service history, though, and make sure it got oil changes!
