Possible bent lower control arm, depends on speed and angle of hit. If severe enough you may have to worry about the steering rack. Park the car with the wheels straight and observe the space around the tire to the fender well arch on both sides of the car. If the damaged side is closer to the fender opposite the direction it was it, then a control arm may be bent.
I'm glad she is ok, but a word of advice if its your family car. My brother had three girls that drove the family cars as teens and he had a rule: Depending on the degree of driver negligence, repairs would be footed by the driver. He would front the cost and they would work out a payment plan. One wasn't real careful and after her second fender bender due to inattention at a crossroad that tore the plastic nose off the Saturn (crept through a stop light while changing a CD), her entire summer job's pay went to getting the car fixed, some $1,800. A lot for a teen. If she fell behind in repaying dad, the keys were taken from all three and no one had access, peer pressure was very effective.
He was driving home the point that there was a cost to driving and I think all were better drivers for it. They are all careful drivers now and its been years since that accident.
