Yes, in the USA Saab recommends 10,000 miles oil changes. Saab changed to semi-synthetic oil with the model year 2001 cars. Saab even sells Saab brand 5W-30 semi-synthetic oil.
Based on past threads, most owners on this BB have opted for 5,000 mile (8,000 km) oil and filter changes using either the Saab oil or a full synthetic like Mobil 1.
The initial 1500 km oil change is probably no longer necessary. Better machining, cleaning, and assembly practices have all but eliminated the possibility of metal debris in new engines. But if you want to make a 1500 km oil and filter change, it won't hurt anything.
