My wife wanted one as well, until she drove it on the highway. It takes about 20 minutes to get up to speed (65mph) then can barely keep it going. It wanders all over the road. Reliability is questionable at best, and if you think Saab repairs are overpriced, wait til you see what a LandRover costs to fix.
Basically, the Discovery is a tough English farming vehicle morphed to be an "SUV". But it is still a farm vehicle.
