Have the dealership run the VIN to see all of the warranty work that was done. Wouldn't hurt to ask them what work thye did (if any) between the time the car was traded and the time you purhcased it. I would think a dealership values its reputation somewhat and would have thouroughly run the car through a check, even if it is not certified.

Would not purchase the warranty...too expensive. Would be a better idea, in my opinion, to take the 80 bucks and set it aside in a rainy day/car repair fund. I imagine you purchased the car at a decent price. The most significant cost is the depreciation. The "other guy" took that.

Purchased mine on eBay w/ 51,000 miles (talk about concerns). Knock on wood, no problems to date though I did do the 60K service early becasue I did not know the full extent of the service history.
