I just bought an 04 Aero Wagon with auto and sport-tech. The first thing I'd advise you to do is to find out if your company is on the GM supplier discount program, this will get you right around invoice, options are similarly discounted as well. My company has been a GM supplier for years now, and I just found out about it 2, 3 weeks ago, so do some checking, because its haggle free. Then, this month all Aero's have $5000 factory to dealer cash and plus $500 bonus cash. So I paid $5500 below invoice(or thereabouts, you get the picture). Also, check to see if Saab loyalty is still in effect, thats an additional $500, but I think I read that the program is now kaput as of 3-31-04. If you(or your spouse) are not on the Supplier list, you can haggle, especially if you buy off the lot. I am pretty sure I could have gotten quite close to the GMSD price + incentives.

Don't know much about Volvo S60r, I have driven the S60 as a loaner for my wifes s70, I was not impressed. Drives like a Ford Taurus, no to say Taurus is bad, just why pay $10-15k more for the Volvo. S60 has more style than the s70, but the power, handling, and comfort are pretty much the same(all mediocre).

With the new Aero, the handling and acceleration are amazing for car of its size, it sips the gas and, WOW is all i can say about the seats, but you will see for yourself why they say people who test drive a Saab usually buy one.

Good luck,
Mike in MA
