Scott: I'm not sure why they put that disclaimer on the bottle, but I have found that Rain X is a great solvent for all materials that stick to a car,and have been using it on my headlight covers as well as turn signals etc to remove road debris. If you think about it, surrounding just about every windshield is a variety of materials like rubber, plastic, paint etc. They wuld have to be pretty sure that none of these materials would be affected by the product in order to effectively market it for use on the glass.
