I bought a new 9-5 wagon back in March.
I had spent a lot of time behind the wheel of '03 V70's and can say its a really nice car. Rented one for almost 8 weeks. Comfortable, solid, well built attractive. I may be the minority but I think volvo got it exactly right with the styling on the v70 When I was shopping I test drove a few v70's. I liked the car but distictively remember the ones with turbo had the dreaded 'turbo lag'( my rental had no turbo).
I finally got into a 9-5 arc wagon and never looked back. I won't go on about the merits of the 9-5 but its a very different experience from the volvo. Woody described the volvo as a tank...having a grandfather who was an Oldsmobile man...it feels like a 'swedish oldsmobile' by comparison. I emphasize 'by comparison'. The volvo is a very nice car but quite unlike the saab experience. As woody said...Drive them...the 9-5 is defies everything one might expect in a wagon. This car continues to amaze me.
