The car has Michelin Pilots, which I believe were OEM tires for '02. I don't really have a reason to doubt the mileage. I just had a bad experience about 8 months ago I flew to Dallas to buy a '01 Aero from a lease return co. I stipulated it would have to go to an auth. Saab dealer (Sewell SAAB of Dallas) for an inspection at my expense I had the mechanic on the phone asking questions as he was going through the car and I emphasized if there was evidence of an accident, the answer was no. I pulled a Carfax and the Equifax eqivalent which showed no accident history and even had Saab Leasing in Arkansas fax a notarized release of lien to me. My wife and I flew to Dallas, I looked in the spare tire cavity area and saw rust inside, I drove the car over to their body shop seems the entire back end of the car had been replaced you could even see where the frame had been pulled. Sewell made it right paid for airfares roundtrip and hotel and it wasn't their car. The car was bought at the Boston auction and the used car company that owned the car said it wasn't disclosed - FAT CHANCE! Anyway I am going to fly later this week to see this '02 Aero and am more confident as it is a one owner and the guy is fanatical about the maintenance, and everything he says checks with the Saab database on the VIN, I just want to verify as much as possible.
Recommendations for a replacement tires? My wife is the primary driver and she won't be going to the race track, so no "ZR" speed rated or ultra high performance tires are necessary. I'll have to let you know if I buy the car. Thankyou for the feedback.
