Over the course of the last 3 weekends i have driven my 2000 aero with 93k on it from southern Maine to the finger lakes region of upper New York state, twice. During the first trip just me and the wife, tires at 41psi, runnning 93 octane, and 60-70f temp. Set the SID once on the interstate, and did not reset when we stopped, so average speed was 65mph with a 29.9mpg ave over 500miles.
Last weekend did the same trip (since had PVC mod, actual started leaking while in New York 3 weeks ago). This time added 2 kids and some additional luggage, same tire pressure slightly warmer weather. This trip i got 28.0 mpg.
Have done the entire 90k service except air filter since the first trip.
Any reason for the change and the low average compared to the others here?
Thanks
