Importing my car to Sweden, need to change speedo

I have had a 1999 9-5 for a couple of years and am now moving back to Sweden after having lived in the US since 2000. Getting the car shipped etc is all taken care of but upon arrival I need to change the parking lights from amber to clear (no biggie) and modify the speedo to have either kph markings or a speedo with both kph and mph markings but with kph being the dominant one if I understand Swedish car import things correctly. An easy but pretty ugly way to do this is to just put black tape over the mph markings ;o)
Can someone tell me if it is possible to get behind the glass of the speedo or how much work it would be to replace the speedo? I would assume that a Swedish repair shop is going to want to replace the entire unit including rev meter etc which sounds expensive, not to mention removing the dash to fit it...
Any of your thoughts are greatly appreciated.
