If you buy a used instrument cluster, be especially careful of the odometer mileage. It's built into the entire cluster, can't be removed, and can be moved forward, but not backwards. IF your car has 80K but the cluster shows 120K, you've just added 40K to your car's age. Also, if Saab does not do the odometer conversion themselves, your car becomes a "grey market" vehicle in the eyes of Saab USA and voids your warranty, as they have no way of verifying your actual mileage. It will catch up with you at your next annual inspection, when mileage is reported to your DMV.
