I had a 2004 linear as a service loaner. Compared with my 2002 9-5 linear, I was rather disappointed.

I didn't like the senstronic(sp?) transmission for one. I didn't like how you could not select sport mode when you are in the manual selection mode. The sport mode gives better throttle response on my 2002. No Winter mode either, just another blank. I also miss not having the other gear selections available. I typically drive around in town with the gear selector in 4th instead of "D" so that it's not having to do double down shifts when requesting some acceleration.

I also didn't like the grey leather option compared to the charcoal we have. It felt more grainy and the changing of the armrest to pleather was rather noticeable. I did like that the dash had more of a two tone contrast though. the top was more black and the bottom portion was grey.

Didn't like the dark wood dash. It looked to stark.

The mirrors shape is smaller and more round instead of being more rectangular as my 2002 is. Seems like the saab got econo box mirrors.

Abscense of WB. I think it's a cool feature.

The large blank where the ESP and onstar button is on my 2002 is rather ugly. That makes about 8 blanks on the dash! At least on my 2002 they are less visible.

The passenger side floor mat does not have the posts to hold it in place, and the mat doesn't have any rubber backing to keep it from sliding all over.

I do wish my 2002 had homelink, but I may be able to add that after the fact.

Anybody have a 2002 Aero wagon coming w/ auto coming off lease soon? That seems like the best vintage of the 9-5's of late.
