Yes, there have been many postings regarding "de-contenting" in the '04 model. If you'd looked inside the trunk, you'd see that the side cargo net is gone (as are the hooks for it). My '04 Aero does have winter mode, but you can simulate this by using sentronic to select 3rd or 2nd before accelerating. Definitely agree with you on the side mirrors, I think these were down-sized in '03.
Homelink can be added, and ordered from Saab or through a TSN advertiser such as stateofnine.com.
The '04 SID is less friendly, but I've been told it's more reliable.
